If there is something I cannot stand, it’s the COLD. I just cannot handle cold weather at all. My bones ache and I shiver non-stop. Hence, I wear at least 3-4 layers and bring an extra jacket! Of course, scarves, hats, and gloves are must haves!
In “honor” of cold weather and start of a new month, I’m giving away a can of HOT CHOCOLATES to 5 lucky winners.
This is not just regular hot chocolates at all. They are from Boulevards Organic.
I got to try
Dairy-Free Hot Chocolate.
annnnnd
Dairy-free & Sugar-Free Hot Chocolate.
Both were delicious but they sure tasted different.
Their dairy-free Sweet-DarkĀ hot chocolate removes the milkĀ from the original mix. It was bitter compared to the sugar-free one, but very tolerable. I love things bitter so this one was definitely a hit for me.
The sugar-free hot chocolate is lightly sweetened with organic erythritol. This one was more smooth and did not have some of chocolates crunched up.
I actually tried them with hot water at first because I enjoy the natural cocoa bitter flavor. The second time, I tried them in warmed up soy milk and brought back childhood memories. My siblings and I used to make them during the winter time to enjoy while watching series of christmas movies!
5 lucky winners will receive one can of their choice from Boulevards Organic!
All you have to do is:
1. Comment on this post letting me know how you make your HOT CHOCOLATES. Do you have a special recipe?
2. Link back to this post pretty please~
3. Twitter about the contest!
4. Add me to your blogroll and google reader.
5. You’ll get automatic extra points if you have at least commented 5 times on my past posts.
Good luck everyone! This giveaway closes on November 5th of 2009!

What a wonderful way to start November! I love to make hot chocolate with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a splash of Amaretto. It’s okay, I don’t serve this recipe to kids
If I’m looking for chocolatey richness, I just use water. If I’m looking for some childhood nostalgia, I’ll use milk.

Aw! This is exciting! Since developing lactose intolerance, I’ve missed my hot cocoa – so many brands have extra milk added!
When making hot cocoa, I love either adding some peppermint or cinnamon. The peppermint adds a whole new dimension, and cinnamon and chocolate is a killer combination.

These look yummy. I take cocoa powder, almond milk, and just a touch of peppermint extract heated slowly on the stove to make a seriously delicious combo. The almond milk develops an incredible flavor warmed slowly.

Oh man, ’tis the season for hot chocolate already! Yes!
Since I went vegan, it’s been very disappointing finding some good hot chocolate mix without milk, so I would love to try this brand!
When preparing my hot chocolate I use almond milk and sometimes cinnamon. Got to love chocolate and cinnamon, they go together so well. Especially in my stomach!

I don’t have any special way I make hot chocolate. I usually just use water. I know, so boring. Okay fine, sometimes I put in some peppermint schnapps to turn it into a “thin mint”!

Once I made it with melted chocolate chips and it was so sweet I thought I would die! I don’t think it has sounded good since then, but those mixes look pretty tasty.

There are very few things I like about winter, but cocoa ranks high on my list of winter treats! Once I got my espresso machine, I discovered my absolute favorite style of hot cocoa:
one shot of espresso mixed with a cup of foamy, steamed cocoa made with vanilla-flavored soy/almond milk (it’s heavenly…)
