Oooh great find, Jung Hwa
Hmmm, I would like to try some crazy spreads like fig, but I haven’t tried very many. I guess the craziest would be pumpkin butter or apple-cranberry spread? Yummy!

These sound so good! I haven’t really tried any crazy ones because I only buy original ones(boring, I know!) but at my City Market I saw a jar of Lemongrass spread.

I guess fig jam was pretty exciting, but I also bought rose jelly once that was absolutely delicious albeit a little strange because there were petals suspended in it!

If passionfruit is considered a superfruit then I tried its golden seedy goodness in Bali at a resort! The Trader Joe’s Superfruit spread is pretty good too; it’s got cherries, pomegranate, blueberries, and grape (I was iffy on that one).

Um, I’m afraid the most exotic fruit spread I’ve had that I could identify would be ginger, mango, or fig. Not too crazy, I know. However, I had a fantastic homemade red one at the home of a friend of a friend in Germany. What makes that crazy is that the hostess didn’t know the ENglish name of the fruit–maybe it was lingonberry?

Wow! I love making PB&J sammies, so these would really spruce up the traditional sandwich! I have never gotten too crazy, but one of my favorites was a blueberry & cherry preserves mix that I found! YUM!

At the San Francisco farmer’s market I’ve tried the chipotle strawberry jam, which has such an incredibly unique flavor. It wasn’t too sweet or too spicy, but a perfect medium. I’ve also had olallieberry jam, which isn’t so crazy, just not so easy to come by.

I honestly can’t think of a crazy fruit spread I’ve tried. If this counts, the weirdest combination I’ve eaten so far is Dream of Paradise – Organic Chocolate Maca Energy Butter (which is really more like a fruity type of spread because it has these ingredients: raw cacao with lavender flowers, mint leaves, honey, agave nectar, Living Tree Alive Olive Oil, sundried raisins, nutmeg, cardamon and cayenne. It’s from Living Tree Community products.

hmm, i’ve sampled quite a few fruity spreads at a craft fair type dealio on campus, but i can’t quite remember the craziest. the first “strange” fruit spread i ever tried was apple butter. i thought it was so weird to have a jam called butter.
more recently, i’d say blueberry chutney was the most interesting slash crazy spread i’ve tried.
these spreads sound pretty crazy themselves though!

The craziest spread I’ve ever tried is caramel apple butter. P.S. I saw this product at the store the other day (I couldn’t buy it b/c the husband said it was silly to buy things right before we move) and wanted it so bad that I’ve actually been thinking about it ever since; I was so excited when I saw this contest!

The craziest spread I’ve tried was a jar of homemade jalapeno-mango spread. It was surprisingly good. Until now, I’d never heard of Crofter’s superfruit spread, but I’m very interested and headed to find out where I can buy. What a great opportunity for someone to try before he/she buys!

I think the craziest kind that I have ever tried was a Strawberry-blueberry-Raspberry Mixture that my dad used to make. There was something about homemade spread that was so good and so much better than the store bought kind. The benefit of making your own is that you can pick the flavor!

I made kiwi pineapple spread a couple of years ago to take to the fair. It won a blue ribbon but only because we were the only one in the “other fruits” category! It was ok, but the kiwis I used were kind of bland.

Rose jam – It’s really popular in Austria, so my great-grandmother used to have it all the time. The best part is if you stir a Tbsp into a glass of water, you have amazing rose water, perfect to bake with or drink on a hot summer’s day!
